• 1941 Historical Aircraft Group Museum  The 1941 Aircraft Group is dedicated to restoring, preserving, and displaying old and rare aircraft in flying condition, with an emphasis on the World War II era.
• The Air Force Museum A museum located in Monino, Moscow region, with more than 160 aircraft, conventional planes, helicopters and gliders, as well as unusual flying machines.

• American Airpower Heritage Museum  AAHM is located at Midland International Airport in Midland, Texas, and is dedicated to preserving the history of World War II military aviation and the memory of the men and women who built, serviced, and flew military aircraft in World War II.  The collection includes World War II artifacts and memorabilia, including uniforms of Allied and Axis countries, armament, photographs, weapons and equipment.  The museum houses 40,000 square feet of "hands-on" permanent exhibits that detail the story of World War II airpower.

• Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum  Over 30 vintage Warbirds, rides, research library, tours, retail store.  This non-profit organization id dedicated to acquiring, documenting, preserving, and maintaining a collection of aircraft flown by Canadians and the Canadian military services from the beginning of World War II to the present.  They preserve artifacts, books, periodicals, and manuals.
• Carolinas Aviation Museum  A nonprofit all volunteer museum in Charlotte, NC.  Featuring over 30 aircraft plus numerous aviation artifacts.
• Castle Air Museum  A collection of over 40 historic World War II, Korean War, and Vietnam Conflict aircraft at the former Castle Air Force Base (California).
• Cavanaugh Flight Museum  A non-profit 501(c)(3) educational organization devoted to promoting aviation studies and to perpetuating America's aviation heritage.  The museum restores, operates, maintains, and displays historically-significant vintage aircraft, and collects materials related to the history of aviation.  They offer rides in two distinctive warbirds: the N2S-4 Stearman and the AT-6 Texan.  In Addison, Texas.
• The Commemorative Air Force  This organization includes the American Airpower Heritage Museum with an archival collection of more than 50,000 World War II artifacts, and the American Airpower Heritage Flying Museum which preserves and maintains about 130 aircraft.
• The Cradle of Aviation Museum  Located in Nassau County, Long Island, New York at Mitchel Field.
• Crash Research in Aviation Society Holland 1940-1945  This foundation recovers crashed aircraft from World War II.  They trace crew members or their relatives.  On display are the remains of aircraft and their story.  They also commemorate the Dutch resistance and the Dutch people that risked their lives when hiding jews for the Germans.

• Dayton Aviation Heritage National Historical Park  The park contains four separate sites: the Wright Cycle Company building and Wright brothers' print shop building, Huffman Prairie Flying Field, John W. Berry, Sr. Wright Brothers Aviation Center which includes the 1905 Wright Flyer III, and the Paul Laurence Dunbar State Memorial.
• Delta Heritage Museum  Serving the family and friends of Delta Air Lines by collecting, preserving, and presenting the history of Delta and its affiliated airlines in ways that are interactive, educational, and engaging.  Located at Delta Air Lines Worldwide Headquarters, 2.5 miles south of Atlanta, Georgia.
• Dutch National Aviation Museum  The 'Aviodome' at Lelystad Airport with museum pieces demonstrating Holland's aviation heritage, and a theme park flying two classic airliners.
• Duxford Imperial War Museum  180 aircraft on show: biplanes, Spitfires, Gulf War jets, and historic aircraft.  The American Air Museum at Duxford and houses a collection of historic American combat aircraft.
• Empire State Aerosciences Museum  Outdoor displays of restored aircraft and indoor displays of models, dioramas, and artifacts, including a mockup of the plane flown in Anelia Earhart's ill fated flight around the world, and a replica of the vonPomer Pusher, an early example of powered flight.  Programs for youngsters include hands-on activities in model building, rocket construction and launching, and study of the princilples of flight.   Offered for Adults are ground schools in preparation for the Private Pilot and Instrument Rating written exams required by the FAA for aviation certificates.  The library holds over 20,000 books, manuals, peridicals, pieces of artwork and audiovisual items.  Located at the Schenectady County Airport, New York.
• The Evergreen Aviation Museum  A 121,000 square foot facility in McMinnville, Oregon, featuring the famous Hughes "Spruce Goose" Flying Boat, an SR-71, a 1903 Wright Flyer replica, a C-130 cargo plane, a B-17, quite a few fighters and trainers, and general aviation and other aircraft.
• Experimental Breeder Reactor - I  In the 1950's, there was an attempt to design atom-powered aircraft.  Too heavy and lacking the shielding necessary to protect the pilots, they never got off the ground.  (As far as we know!)  EBR-I is the first atomic reactor to generate electricity.  Two X-39 atomic aircraft engines are on display.  See also Idaho National Labs Experimental Breeder Reactor 1 Museum [pdf].
• The Fleet Air Arm Museum  The museum is located on the B3151 just off the A303 and A37.
• Flight Of The Phoenix Aviation Museum  Showcases the aircraft and equipment of the armed forces.  In Gilmer, Texas.
• Florida Air Museum at Sun 'n Fun  Displays a rich variety of aircraft and artifacts covering the history of the first 100 years of flight.  Particularly notable is the Howard Hughes aviation archives collection.  Year-round educational programs bring aviation to life.
• The Flying Heritage Collection  Rare treasures of 20th-century military aviation in Arlington, Washington, about 20 miles from the Future of Flight.  The collection is owned by Paul Allen of Microsoft fame.
• Flying Leatherneck Aviation Museum  This museum houses an inventory of forty historically significant aircraft, with over two-dozen on static display.  Located at MCAS Miramar, open to the public, and free of charge.
• Future of Flight Aviation Center  The Future of Flight Aviation Center and Boeing Tour project is to create a 73,000 square foot facility consisting of a 58,000sf Aviation Gallery and Conference Center and a 15,000sf Boeing Tour Center at Paine Field Airport in Everett, Washington.  See graphics of the Future of Flight site plan, proposed floor plan, and construction zone photos.
• Gatwick Aviation Museum  Vintage aircraft at this UK museum.
• Glenn L Martin Maryland Aviation Museum  Covering the history of Maryland aviation, concentrating on the Glenn L Martin Company of Middle River, a primary manufacturer of combat aircraft during both WWI and WWII, and predecessor of the Lockheed Martin Corporation.  The indoor location contains models, photos, and documents.  The outdoor static display area includes ten post-WWII military jet aircraft and a Martin 4-0-4 airliner.
• Greenwood Military Aviation Museum  Permanent and temporary exhibits that reflect the history of units based at Greenwood, Nova Scotia.  Aircraft photos and specifications, projects, history, gift shop.
• Grissom Air Museum  24 aircraft on display from B-17 to F-105 to A-10, and many others.  This not-for-profit organization is affiliated with the Indiana State Museum and Historic Sites, and is located in Peru, Indianna, 60 miles north of Indianapolis, next to Grissom Air Reserve Base.
• The Helicopter Museum  The "worlds largest dedicated Helicopter Museum," located on the South West Coast of England at Weston-Super-Mare.

• Historic Aviation Memorial Museum  Located in Tyler, Texas with several aircraft and an extensive collection of artifacts and memorabilia.
• Historic Wendover Airfield  A Utah non-profit corporation formed to restore parts of Wendover Airbase as a heavy bomber history center.  Restoration efforts, current projects, exhibits, history, pictures, events.
• Imperial War Museum Duxford  Europe's premier aviation museum, and having one of the finest collections of tanks, military vehicles, and naval exhibits in the country.  This famous heritage site began as an airfield in the First World War and also played a vital role in the Second World War, firstly as an RAF fighter station and later as an American fighter base.
• The Indian Air Force Museum  Pictures, mementoes, souvenirs, models, and aircraft.  Located at the Palam Air Force Station, on the outer suburbs of New Delhi.
• Indiana Aviation Museum  IAM aircraft statistics, membership information, and a regularly updated events schedule.  IAM is a museum where all planes fly, and can give rides through the Warbird Experience and Sponsorship Programs.
• International Airliners Museum  An Australian not for profit organisation that shows how the development and role of civil air transportation played an important part in opening up the world.
• International Women's Air and Space Museum (IWASM)  This non-profit Cleveland museum showcases the accomplishments of women in air and space.  Rotating exhibits, a research center with thousands of documents, photos, books and artifacts.
• The Iowa Aviation Museum  Celebrating Iowa's aviation heritage with memorabilia and photographs, eleven civil aircraft on display, including some rare examples of early flying machines from the 1920s, 1930s and 1940s, and two military aircraft, an A-7 Corsair jet and a Huey Cobra helicopter.
• The Iowa Military Aviation Museum  Established to honor the Iowa men, women, and the corporations that have played an important part in Military and Iowa aviation throughout history.  Historical aircraft, artifacts, and history at the Ankeny Regional Airport.

• The McChord Air Museum  The official USAF organization whose mission is to portray the history of McChord Air Force Base.  Aircraft and scaled model exhibits, unit exhibits, collection of weapons, instruments, paintings and art from the USAF art collection, photographs, vintage uniforms and other memorabilia.  Located on McChord Air Force Base near Tacoma WA.  Site includes an extensive list of links to U.S. Air Force museums and other aviation museums.
• James S. McDonnell Prologue Room  Exhibits showcase the products from Boeing, McDonnell Douglas, North American Aviation, Hughes Helicopters, and Boeing Vertol.
• The Memorial Flight  A non-profit organisation which aims to preserve French and European aeronautical heritage, mainly centered on the First World War period.  Restoration to flying condition of an original SPAD XIII C1.  Current flyable aeroplanes include a Fokker DR-I reproduction, an original Morane AI type XXIX, a Dassault MD311 Flamant, and a reproduction Blériot XI².  Other projects include an RAF SE5a and the static restoration of the historic "Point d'Interrogation" on behalf of the Musée de l'Air.  French site.

• Mid America Air Museum  This museum contains artifact and memorabilia galleries (many with with a focus on local aviation history), a small theatre and classroom, a research library, and a number of airframes on display.  At the Sioux Gateway Airoprt, Sioux City, Iowa, USA.
• Mid-America Air Museum  More than 100 aircraft, both civilian and military.  Hands-on exhibits demonstrate how and why airplanes fly.  Located in Liberal, Kansas, on the site of a WWII B-24 hangar and later Beechcraft plant.

• The Museum of Army Flying  Celebrating over one hundred years of army aviation, this award-winning museum is home to one of the country’s finest historical collections of military kites, gliders, aeroplanes and helicopters.  There are over 35 helicopters and fixed wing aircraft to see at the museum including the largest collection of military gliders in Europe.  The Museum is situated on the A343 between Andover and Salisbury.
• Museum of Aviation  The second largest museum in the United States Air Force.  It displays 93 aircraft and hundreds of exhibits on a 51 acre site drawing more than 500,000 visitors a year.  At Warner Robins in Georgia.
• The Museum of Berkshire Aviation  A collection of aircraft and photgraphs recalling Berkshire's aviation heritage.  Located at the historic site of Woodley Airfield, near Reading, U.K.
• The Museum of Flight  This Seattle collection of aerospace artifacts is the largest and most comprehensive in the western United States, they say.
• Museum of Flying  Rare collection of World War II fighter aircraft, most of which are in flight ready condition and frequently take part in air races across the US.  Located in Santa Monica, California on the site of the old Douglas Aircraft factory.

• Pearson Air Museum  A pre-WWII Army Air Corps Airfield preserved with flight capable aircraft on display.  Located at Vancouver's National Historic Reserve.
• Peterson Air and Space Museum  Located in an 8.3 acre Colorado State Historic District, the Museum preserves and portrays the aviation and space history of Colorado Springs and Peterson Air Force Base.  Exhibits feature the WW II Peterson Army Air Base, the Binational (United States and Canadian) North American Aerospace Defense Command, US Air Defense Command and the US Air Force Space Command.  The Museum's Airpark collection includes sixteen aircraft and four missiles.
