“Accreditation” is review of the quality of
higher education institutions and programs. In the United States, accreditation
is a major way that students, families, government officials, and the press know
that an institution or program provides a quality education.
Whether a college, university, or program is
accredited is important:
Students who want federal (and sometimes state) grants and
loans need to attend a college, university, or program that is accredited.
Employers ask if a college, university, or program is
accredited before deciding to provide tuition assistance to current employees,
evaluating the credentials of new employees, or making a charitable
contribution.
The federal government requires that a college, university,
or program be accredited in order to be eligible for federal grants and loans
or other federal funds.
State governments require that a college, university, or
program be accredited when they make state funds available to students or
institutions and when they allow students to sit for state licensure
examinations in some professional fields.
Accreditation is a complicated subject. “Informing the
Public About Accreditation” is an effort to reduce this complexity and provide
the public with answers to these basic questions:

About the Department of Aeronautical Management
Technology
The Department of Aeronautical Management Technology (AMT) offers
undergraduate programs that combine academic studies and professional flight
and aviation training. Situated at ASU’s Polytechnic campus and adjacent to
Williams Gateway Airport in Mesa, Arizona, the AMT Department provides
students with a solid foundation that prepares them for employment in major
and regional airlines, general and corporate aviation, and the military.
Examples of our innovative programs and training include:
Airline Bridge Training, which was developed with flight provider Mesa Pilot
Development and Mesa Air Group, one of the largest regional airlines in the
country, to train those students seriously interested in becoming
professional airline pilots.
Altitude Chamber, which provides invaluable experience for students
interested in the human factors related to high-altitude activities.
The year-round flying weather in the Valley of the Sun creates the best
flying environment in the country. Combine that with programs that stay on
the cutting edge of aviation science and technology, and you have a learning
experience second to none.
Explore your future in flight with an Aeronautical Management Technology
degree from ASU.
Professional Flight
The Professional Flight program is a professional pilot curriculum designed
for those students seriously interested in becoming professional airline
pilots. The program combines academic studies and flight training under
Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Part 141 certification. The level of
emphasis on airline training is the capstone of this program, which sets it
apart from most flight training schools.
The unique theoretical program uses an integrated learning model which
incorporates personal computer-based flight simulator programs, including
multi-engine flight simulators. The overall curriculum concentrates on the
technical, management and computer-related applications necessary to operate
in the high-density, complex modern airspace environment. The program also
emphasizes the critical thinking and cognitive, analytical and communicative
skills which are so important for success in today’s aviation industry.
Throughout the program, students will participate in seminars to explore
career opportunities. At the conclusion of their studies, students can apply
for several flying and non-flying internships within the aviation industry.
Airline Bridge Training Program
The AMT Department, along with flight provider Mesa Pilot Development, a
Mesa Air Group company, has developed the Airline Bridge Training Program
with Mesa Airline, one of the largest regional airlines in the country.
(News releases and other information about Mesa Air Group can be found at
the company’s Web site.) Candidates who successfully complete the program
are granted a preferential interview for First Officer at Mesa Air Group
provided the graduate meets all U.S. Government requirements for flight
activity and possesses appropriate authorization for full time employment in
the United States.
Application and Admission Procedures
Because of limited space, the program selection process is academically
competitive. The Professional Flight program is the initial phase of the
qualification/application process to becoming an airline first officer.
Individuals seeking admission to the program will need to participate in a
secondary application process. The secondary application deadlines are
typically nine months prior to the beginning of the appropriate semester.
Students accepted to the Professional Flight program must pass an FAA
medical examination prior to admission. An FAA Class I medical examination
is required in order to complete the certificates and ratings necessary to
meet graduation requirements. It is recommended that a medical examination
be completed by an Aviation Medical Examiner (AME) prior to the start of
classes.
AMT has a no-tolerance drug and alcohol policy for students seeking
admission into the Professional Flight program.
Students receive ASU credit toward graduation only for flight activities or
instruction received at flight schools with which the university has
contracted for such instruction.

complimentary halves of the aviation career field.

Airframe & Powerplant School.
Both programs are approved for VA benefits and accredited by NCA and the
Iowa Board of Higher Education and graduates earn an A.A.S. degree.
Indian Hills’ program accomplishes in 1.75 years what others spread over 4
years at a cost saving of up to 50% or in many cases even more. Our degree
and university transfer programs have been designed for you to meet the
industry’s needs.
To attend and guide our programs, we have advisory boards with
representatives from major airlines, aircraft manufacturers and aircraft and
powerplant maintenance companies to stay current with the latest industry
needs. Indian Hills has on site FAA written testing and DME examining
authority. Indian Hills is also offering several of it’s flight (pilot)

On May 1, 2008, operation
of the ATC transferred from Cowley College to Wichita Area Technical
College (WATC).
The ATC can turn you into a welding, wiring,
tweaking, tuning Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) technician in just 18
months. A&P licensed mechanics are the cream of the crop. They work
where they want, when they want.
It is a challenge, but with challenges come
rewards. You will learn hydraulics, electrical, engines, avionics,
fuel systems and everything else it takes to keep high performance
aircraft running smoothly. And it's not just aviation, cruise lines,
thrill rides, NASCAR — they are all looking for A&P mechanics. Why?
Because they know that anyone who can complete A&P training has what
it takes. Do you?
Aviation High School has a unique
educational program for students seeking a career in the aerospace industry. Our
dual program of academic excellence in Regent courses and Advanced Placement
classes, combined with Federal Aviation Administration-approved Aviation

in Dunkirk, New York.
We are a Federal Aviation Administration (Part 141), Veteran's

1945. The flight school was issued its Part 141 Pilot School certificate
by the FAA in 1947. In 1958, he moved the flight school to its current
location at the Dunkirk Airport. And in 1970, Dunkirk Aviation Flight
School joined with the Cessna Aircraft Company to become one of the
